Mihai Toma is the Strategy and Performance Cluster Director at The KPI Institute, focusing on the provision of strategy and performance related advisory services customized to client needs and context. The current role involves a mix of researching, consulting and facilitating abilities and techniques. Mihai has gained a solid background in working with performance management systems due to his activity as a consultant, trainer and analyst across different organizational levels and industries.

As a consultant, he led and contributed to the implementation of more than 30 advisory projects dedicated to Strategy Planning and Execution, together with the implementation of Performance Management systems at strategic, operational and individual level. Mihai has advised and worked with a variety of international clients from industries such as petrochemicals, utilities, healthcare, construction materials production, pension funds, food production, and professionalservices.

Mihai has been actively involved in the implementation and design of corporate and functional performance scorecards, different types of KPI operational dashboards, assisting in the development of the performance management system architecture for The KPI Institute’s clients from various industries and functional areas based on best practices and client specifications. Cascading organizational strategic objectives and KPIs across all organizational levels (departmental, team and individual), as well as conducting research activities and deep dives on specific markets and industries based on client requirements are other key skills that Mihai has been able to develop and enhance.

As an educator, Mihai has developed and delivered training courses on Organizational Performance Management, Balanced Scorecard, Key Performance Indicators, Strategic Planning, Strategy Execution and Employee Performance Management. He has delivered training courses and workshops in: United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nigeria, Ghana, Turkey, and Romania.
